The Wax Museum, is exactly like the nickname states, a night like no other!" Our students will be incorporating several different skills into this very special night. In January, your student has chosen a Wax Museum Character. From this selection they will begin the process of researching, studying, and eventually writing a biography about this character. In March we will turn the biography into an autobiography. From this point on, we will begin to memorize this autobiography so we can "become" this character for our Wax Museum night. On May 14th, your student will act as their character for the Wax Museum, complete with props, costume, speech, and poster. The students will be spread throughout the halls of West Middle School, "frozen" like wax until someone from the crowd deposits money into their jar and they "come to life" to tell their story.
This is our sixth year of hosting the Wax Museum and we are proud to say that between Core 61 and 62, West Middle School has been able to raise around $18,000 to various projects, families in need, and charitable organizations.
